I am SO thankful that when it comes to ministry we literally have the perfect example! When things in life start getting hard it is so easy for us as humans to say "not now" or "I need me time". We get so self focused that we start to shut out others and in turn we shut out an opportunity for ministry.
Matthew 14:13-16" When Jesus heard what bad happened he withdrew by boat privately to a solitary place. Hearing of this the crowds followed Him on foot from the towns. When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them and healed their sick. As evening approached, the disciples came to Him and said, " This is a remote place, and its already getting late. Send the crowds away so they can go to the villages and buy themselves soom food." Jesus replied, "They do not need to go away. You get them something to eat."
I am so glad that Jesus is nothing like us. Jesus just wanted some quiet time. He wanted to get away. But He was unsuccessful. The people still followed Him but when He saw He just had compassion on them. Personally I know if I were in that situation I wouldn't have responded the way that Jesus did. If you are like me you probably would of either a) ask them for a minute or b) find a new "quite"spot.
Maybe you would yourself in the disciples position. Asking Jesus to just send them away. Trying to find any excuse possible to have them leave. But when the disciples asked Jesus to send them away so they could eat, Jesus' response was "You get them something to eat." Jesus understood that His Father's work was important and that nothing should get in the way. Not emotions. Not hunger. Not time. Nothing.
What is stopping you from 24/7 ministry? What are you letting get in the way? Let's begin to take from Christ's example and serve Him - NO MATTER WHAT. 24/7.
